An Chéad Ghlúin Eile

Sunday 27.9. 15:00

An Chéad Ghlúin Eile (ACGE), Irish for 'The Next Generation', are Sean-Nós singing sisters Étáin and Máire Ní Churraoin from the Ráth Chairn Gaeltacht in Meath, Ireland.

Following in the steps of their granduncle, Darach Ó Catháin, a famous Sean-Nós singer, the sister duo perform traditional Irish and folk songs in harmony all over Ireland, on television and internationally.

The native Irish speakers won TG4 National Irish Language Television Broadcast’s family talent contest ‘Réalta agus Gaolta’ (Ireland’s most talented family) in 2019. Their debut album ‘Cá’il an Bheirt?’ won ‘Album of the Year’ at the 2025 NÓS Awards, Ireland’s premier awards ceremony celebrating contemporary Irish-language music. The folk-singing duo were Ealaín na Gaeltachta’s 2022 Culture Night Ambassadors for promoting the development of contemporary and traditional arts in the Gaeltacht.

An Chéad Ghlúin Eile will open the concert at 15:00 – 15:30. There will be intermission of 20 minutes and then Altan will perform.
