Join Siobhan Butler for a 6 hour multi-style class will immerse participants in Sean-nós, set dancing and old style step dancing. Taught by dancer, Siobhan Butler, the emphasis of this course is to provide a holistic view of traditional dance in Ireland and the many varieties of solo and group dances.
Siobhan Butler is a performer and teacher of sean-nós dance based in County Clare, Ireland. In her over 20 years as a dancer, she has performed and taught dance around the world with some of the leading traditional artists such as Nic Gareiss, Lúnasa, Cherish the Ladies, Nuala Kennedy, and many more.
Rather than just teaching a single technique, Siobhan pulls from her vast knowledge of percussive dance traditions to give her students a variety of tools to help them interpret the music and build their dancing in their own creative way.
