Children’s Dance Course

Welcome to the children’s Irish dance class with Nelli Sinisalo.

All children over the age of 3 who want to learn Irish dance with a fun and enthusiastic teacher are welcome to join the children’s Irish dance class.

In class, we’ll practice basic steps together and create a short choreography to be performed for parents at the end of the class. To ensure a peaceful learning environment, parents are kindly asked to wait outside the studio during the lesson.

Comfortable workout clothes suitable for dancing are recommended. Soft, flexible indoor shoes like ballet or slippers work well, and dancing in socks is also an option. A water bottle is good to have, as dancing will surely work up a thirst!

Welcome to dance to the cheerful rhythm of Irish music!

Nelli Sinisalo is one of the pioneers of Irish dance in Finland. She got excited about Irish dancing as a little girl in Pispalan Sottiisissa in the early 90s, where you could experience the magic of Irish music and dance for the first time.

Nelli started practicing in Irish dance in 2004 as a student of Lotta Virkkunen and after a few years she moved to Ireland, where she studied more dance e.g. TCRG led by teachers Mary Beth Taylor and Ronan McCormack (Riverdance). That’s also where she started competing. In addition to solo dances, she has also competed with the céilí team, e.g. at the world championships in London and Galway.

Nelli has worked as an Irish dance teacher since 2010. She has been a teacher at InSpiral Dance Company Finland since 2015. In addition to Tampere, she has also held courses in Hämeenlinna, Seinäjoki and Oulu for both children and adults.

Nelli is an experienced performer and has performed several dance gigs around Finland at various events.
