Welcome to the Irish dance weekend course taught by Nelli Sinisalo. The course is intended for adults (everyone over 12 years old can join the course) who are total beginners without any prior experience in Irish dance, as well as for those who already know some of the basic steps.
No prior preparation is needed—just a desire to learn and have fun!
Over the weekend, we’ll explore the world of Irish dance by practicing basic steps and preparing a few different dances. The classes mainly focus on solo dancing, but there will also be some partner/group dancing.
Comfortable workout clothes suitable for dancing are recommended. Soft, flexible indoor shoes like ballet or gym slippers work well, but dancing in socks is also fine. Bring a water bottle – dancing is sure to make you thirsty!
After the course, everyone will have knowledge of the basics of Irish dance, different time signatures, and dance styles.
Nelli Sinisalo is an experienced Irish dance teacher who has been sharing the joy of dance for many years. Her teaching combines a positive and inspiring atmosphere with clear and encouraging guidance, helping students to grow and enjoy dancing. Nelli lived in Dublin, Ireland, from 2007 to 2009, where she also participated in her first competitions. This experience deepened her understanding of Irish dance and its cultural significance.
For Nelli, it’s important to create an environment in her classes where everyone can learn and succeed at their own pace. Irish dance is not only a technically demanding discipline, but also a wonderful way to express oneself.
“I want to share this passion with all my students!” – Nelli
