Born in Kaustinen into the well-known Järvelä musical family, Antti Järvelä started playing the violin at the age of four before going on to study violin and double bass at the Sibelius Academy. Over the years he has worked as a freelance musician and teacher in many countries, sharing his music and experience with a wide range of audiences and students.
He is a founding member of the Finnish-Norwegian ensemble Frigg and plays with groups such as Baltic Crossing, JPP and Troka. He also founded and leads the folk collective Orivesi All Stars.
