Michael Vignoles & Ray O'Donnell

Uilleann piper Michael Vignoles and esteemed Galway Cathedral organist Raymond O’ Donnell perform 1,000 years of sacred music pairing Ireland's hauntingly evocative uilleann pipes with the stately organ accompaniment.
Renowned uilleann pipe maker and musician Michael Vignoles and esteemed Galway Cathedral organist Raymond O’ Donnell perform a beautifully arranged concert featuring 1,000 years of sacred music pairing Ireland's hauntingly evocative uilleann pipes with the stately organ accompaniment. The meditative tunes—which range from ancient Latin-titled pieces (''Veni, Creator Spiritus'') to classical staples (''Amazing Grace'') to traditional Irish airs (''Ta'imse 'Im Chodladh'') — are exceptionally moving. The organ provides a warm foundation for the crisp, keening sound of the pipes, and Vignoles' two original compositions (''Nature's Moments'' and ''The Whispering Wind'') feel so timeless that they blend in seamlessly.
