This workshop is suitable for those who already have performance storytelling or improv experience.
In this workshop, we look at where the art forms of Storytelling & Improvisation overlap. We will explore listening, observation, composition, and play. We’ll get to try composing a story on spot – being inspired by music, the audience and object. We will tell a single story as a group, and sharpen our skills of agreement. This workshop will use the tools of improvisation to remove any blocks and get the creative juices flowing. We will be moving around physically a lot, emphasizing telling (and listening!) with the whole body, and how this can improve our craft. We will use improvisation to explore stage presence, character and vocal projection, and play with size and volume as another tools in telling. Together we’ll explore the personal story, and how to ‘mine it for gold’.
